If you are looking for Southeast False Creek real estate yet another option now lies before you. Bastion Development Corporation is getting set to launch Proximity, a new condominium development in the same block as it’s Opsal condo project.
There is very little information available right now about the Proximity condo development, but Bastion says this on their website:
Located at East 2nd Avenue and Ontario Street, the Proximity high-rise tower will stand as a visible reminder of the Vancouver’s industrial history. The sleek concrete tower will rise adjacent to the heritage site of Opsal Steel, one of city’s landmark buildings, which will soon offer retail and amenity space in the new Opsal block. Just moments from Vancouver’s Olympic Village site and its abundance of community amenities, this tower will mark a new development within a very historic neighbourhood. Sustainably designed to include green rooftops and solar panels, a new landmark will rise with Proximity.

It does seem that Proximity will spell the end of the road for the Century Car Wash, one of Vancouver’s favourite hand carwash locations.
