B.C. First-Time New Home Buyers’ Bonus Ending Soon

You could save $10,000 on the purchase of a new home if you move fast. The B.C. First-Time New Home Buyers’ Bonus is a one-time payment worth up to $10,000. This program was introduced last year and to be eligible you must enter into a firm agreement to purchase a newly constructed home, AND move into it before April 1, 2013. Plus you must be a first time home buyer.

B.C. First-Time New Home Buyers’ Bonus Ending Soon

According the government of BC website a First Time Buyer is defined as:

“A first-time home buyer is an individual who has never previously owned a primary residence anywhere in the world.

and

“A primary residence is generally a house that you own, jointly or otherwise, and that you intend to live in on a permanent basis. You may have more than one place of residence, but you are considered to have only one primary residence.

There is a host of other qualifications and you can find them all here.

In Southeast False Creek there are a few brand new developments that are complete, but still have units for sale from the developer. You could buy one of these, take possession before April 1, 2013 and still receive the $10,000 B.C. First-Time New Home Buyers’ Bonus.

There are the two homes at James that I mentioned the other day, units at the Village on False Creek, the Maynards Block, and potentially some units at the nearly complete Pinnacle Living False Creek Phase 2.
